The O’Keeffe & Company Public Relations Externship program is a foot-in-the-door position for recent university graduates interested in communications. An Extern supports the client team, working on task-oriented projects that require good organizational skills and the ability to juggle many projects simultaneously.

Primary Responsibilities:

• General account support, including research projects, drafting press releases and other documents, media relations/pitching media, and tracking for client coverage in media outlets

Skills Required:

• Good oral and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as a member of a team
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to organize and prioritize work under pressure
• Ability to manage projects through to completion

Public Relations Externs are paid hourly for three months with the possibility of full-time hire as an Account Coordinator at the end of the externship. This program provides an excellent learning opportunity and a chance to work in one of the area's most progressive marketing agencies.
